US Airways generally doesn't status match. I haven't seen ANY reports of successful matches. Instead, they push their "Try Preferred" challenge.
It's a fairly decent challenge as far as challenges go, but it'll set you back $215. If you'll be flying much, it's easy to justify. After you sign up, you'll have Silver (at least) for 90 days and if you fly 7.5k/15k/22.5k/30k during the 90 days, you'll get Silver/Gold/Plat/CP for at least a year. (If you're familiar with AA's challenge, the main differences are that you get status from the start, you don't have to worry about points vs. miles, and you can challenge all the way up to the highest level.)
