Red face Temperarily moving to New York

Hello wise people of the flying world,

I'm newish here and don't know whether I should be posting under a new thread or whether I can 'hijack' this one but here goes...

My wife has just landed an opportunity to work in NYC for about five months next year. We have a UK based BAEC household account and was wondering whether it's worth changing our address to the states to gain access to the promotions?

Thing is we have an AMEX companion voucher at the moment (don't know when we'll use it) and don't really want to use it.

I noticed that some of the offers the have on the US site (such as a free companion ticket for flights booked before Feb 2010) seem pretty good.

We're probably going to be making a couple of trips back to the UK and maybe do some traveling around the states while we're there.

What would you do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
