It doesn't take that much longer to get from KIX to Kyoto than it does to get from NRT to Tokyo, so unless you really like riding the train...
That being said, if this is a vacation and you want an opportunity to see more of Japan, the train ride from Tokyo to Kyoto can be very pretty.
