Just want to give everyone an update on what's going on.

I contacted "AMEX Customer Care" via private message as NYCFLYGIRL had kindly suggested. The kind person on the other end replied quickly and asked me to contact her through the AMEX secure communication portal which I did. If you're interested in the details, please read below which is the actual reply that I got. If not, here's a brief summary of what Amex's reply was:

1) Call Delta
2) Gave me 3,000 courtesy miles as compensation for my loss of 20,227 miles.
3) A kind reminder telling me that Amex had already sent me a letter on 11/23/09, telling me to call Delta to handle this.

I'm not giving up yet. For those that are interested, I will post another update of any new developments.

I can understand your concern regarding the double miles in terms of the promo that ended on 09/30/09.

I appreciate you applied for the Card before this date, but it was opened on 10/24/09. due to this reason, you missed the deadline.

Sine such issues are exclusively handled by Delta, I would once again request you to call them to resolve the matter. You may call them at their toll free number 1- 800-323-2323 available 24 hours a day - 7 days a week. I assure you that an authorized representative would be able to give you immediate assistance with this matter.

We have also sent to you a letter on 11/23/09 explaining our inability to resolve from our end.

It is my sincere hope that you will understand that we are bound by certain Policies and Procedures and sometimes we may not be able to completely satisfy your needs due to this reason.

However, from my end, to compensate, I am issuing to you 3,000 one time goodwill miles. These 3,000 SkyMiles would be transferred to your Frequent Flyer (FF) account number xxxxxxxxxx in 24 to 48 hours.

I hope I was able to address your concern to your satisfaction. We assure you of our best services at all times. If there is any other way we may be of assistance, please contact us.
