The news, however, comes as one of Transat's competitors across the Atlantic, Flyglobespan, collapsed late Wednesday as its parent company, The Globespan Group PLC, ran into liquidity issues. Flyglobespan, Scotland's largest carrier, flew more than 50,000 seats to Canada last summer between Vancouver, Calgary and Hamilton, Ont., to Scotland, England and Ireland last summer.
