Common sense and logic go only so far as the facts upon which you base your logic. I'm very happy for people who experience 100% upgrades. I've experienced less than 50%, and for some flights I wasn't even remotely close to an upgrade, despite being a PM. This didn't used to occur. I believe that the facts say that depending upon routes, day & time of day, and ticket class, people have radically different experiences flying DL as PM. The logic then says, for those who are getting upgraded consistently, PM is sufficient. For people like myself, I'm counting the days stuck in Y until my DM applies, and wishing that like PM it would apply immediately and not in the Spring. I'm just thankful I can still usually snag an exit row seat.
