I've stayed in both many times. The Metropolitan suites have a much larger living room, with a dining table for 6 or so. There is plenty of space for a few people in both types of suites, but you may want to try to get the Metropolitan upgrade if you want to meet at a table rather than on a couch around the coffee table.
