It's not foolproof, but you could also check the Weather Channel (use the Travel Weather option and put in DCA) or local DCA weather forecasts in the days before your flight - that'll give an indication of which direction the wind is forecast to be from.

Jim, which side would you pick based upon Fridays weather predictions? (sorry, i am a little unclear about runway direction and the wind directions...i only played flight simulator a few times and trust me, I dont think US would hire me to fly their planes right now based upon my performance in the game
