The Whining Continues...
So, this morning I bolted out of bed in a panic, with the sudden realization of "No Priority Screening Line". Sure enough, a reasonably long line at the TSA checkpoint. Maybe 30-40 people and it took about 20-30 min to get through. The AA (shared) elite screening line had zero (0) people up to the ID checker, in fact they were shunting people from flights departing soon into that line.
Yes, I know that it's probably petty to complain about a short wait in the "regular" line, but as with many of my FT colleagues, this was the 2nd leave-before-dawn-and-return-at-midnight day-trips this week already, and things like priority screening can be a big deal.
Kudos to the pre-security screeners, they were enforcing the line rules with draconian efficiency. In one case, they called a flight leaving at 6:30, saying "US Air Flight x leaving at 6:30 please come forward [into the priority line]", and this one guy tried to bully his way past with a 6:35 flight. Denied.
Got assigned a window on the return via the check-in kiosk and then when I asked at the counter about switching to an aisle, was told only middles available, so I think I might have won the jackpot on the flight back. Still no seat on the outbound.
