Yes the noise is terrible in CW on the 777. Impossible to sleep.
UD on the 747 is a very different experience from the T7 CW-cabin.
Airbus aircraft is much more quite than Boeing. I was on a Lufthansa A 340 recently, and it was incredibly quite compared to the 777. Made for a very nice and relaxing flight.
