Outstanding crew - shame about the 777

Flew LHR-EWR on Friday afternoon. The crew were examplary, by far the best I have ever come across. The CSD went out of his way the whole flight.

The big disappointment I found was that the stew and dumplings were served up in a metal tray sat in the white dish, so presentation was rubbish. Looked like an economy meal shoved into a nice dish.

The other really annoying thing was that I was on a 4-class 777, my first time. I now know what everyone means by the flying dorm! Felt quite cramped compared to the UD of the 747, and the noise in row 11 is definately not a myth. There was a deep droning noise coming from the big engines with a vibration through the seat for the whole journey, I couldnt sleep at all and Mrs Globalste kept asking me what the noise was. There is also a really annoying whistling wind noise when the flaps/slats are out.
Also, the non-AVOD was really confusing with none of the video channels matching up to those in High-life. An example is my wife had to select channel 23 on the handset to get Movie channel 3

On the 747 return leg from JFK I fell asleep straight away and was woken up with 40mins to land, total peace and quiet, this was noted by mrs globalste as well ^ I didnt realise the sleeper service meal was a help yourself buffet though, slight disappointment as I was expecting a sit down service.

747 UD is like a completely different product when compared to the 777.
