Now I don't mean to be snarky, but the tips and tricks in that thread are very valuable. The reason posters keep the posts opaque is to protect the nature of the find. Most people have read through the thread to learn about these tricks.
You may want to take some time with a notepad and paper and jot down notes while you see recurring themes in that thread.
It's not the answer you're looking for, but it is, IMHO, the most appropriate one.
Here's a hint though: you'll probably want to use a travel search engine (e.g. Orbitz, Priceline, etc.)
