I shuttle between the Concorde room and the gold lounge at T5. The CCR's pluses are the cabanas, better wines and meals served at a table. I found the food to be very average and I often eat at the gold lounge. When travelling, I prefer the buffet style, what you see is what you get, not cold cuts masquerading as tapas.

The CCR is often less quiet than the gold lounge, it's smaller and sometimes it's packed when the gold lounge is almost empty. There are not enough cabanas, they are hard to get and somewhat claustrophobic. Good for a shower and a quick nap, that's about it.

In the Board room, there is only one socket hidden in the table, a UK type socket and no converters are available.

The CCR's best feature is not having to go down through the shops and up again.

So the difference is far from dramatic.

The drama lies elsewhere, it's the real possibility of a crippling strike that could well kill BA as we know it.
