Yes it is the Qantas F lounge that BA uses at SYD.
Go with a open mind and don't listen to an old fart like me who didn't wet his pants when visiting it for the first time this year.
My OP was really about they food, not the whole lounge experience. Watching professional chefs preparing your meal from scratch using top notch ingredients, while you are enjoying some very nice wine, is a lovely way to while away the hours before a flight. Compare that to being hidden away in a booth in the CR waiting for a fairly bland meal to be delivered from behind a closed kitchen door. For me, just not the same.
Other aspects of the CR are of course wonderful. Though the Sydney spa treatments are also better, and unlike in the NY lounge there is no hard sell of the Elemis products.
