But yes, sadly you will have to clear customs and immigration in DFW even if you aren't staying in the US. This means that you will have to pick up your bag to clear customs. You can then drop it with the re-check group just outside of customs, really pretty easy.

I don't know your nationality, but you may need a visa for the US - even if you aren't staying here. Just another p.i.t.a. of int'l txfrs in the US. Be sure to check before you book!
