Since you don't want Delta miles, it's probably not the best free AMEX deal for you. Look at the HHonors and Starwood Cards, which earn hotel points; or the Optima Cards or Blue which earn Membership Reward Options points that redeem at the same $1:0.5 miles to nearly all programs.
