In the scenario that you mentioned, where you are traveling with a non-member who is highly dependent (such as an infant or young child), I'm sure you could show your CBP sticker on the back of your passport and go to the front of the line.

the "unofficial" policy they explained to me was just going over to a customs agent and explaining the (obvious) situation - here with an infant, who obviously cant pass customs himself.

what I want to know - has anyone successfully done this? I know you are "I'm sure you could..." - I also am fairly confident what they told me, will work, but I want to know if a/o has any personal experience with it.
