They need to apply the KISS principle as well as compete head on with the SWU's offered by CO & UA. Nothing short of that will stem the coming tide.
4 SWU's @ 100K isn't much, but don't hold your breath.
Enough people calling & writing will result in a response of some sort, perhaps lame (e.g. the 2 free award changes for Plats), perhaps not. In the last year complaints have rolled back a couple other changes at DL as well.
An exodus of elites, however visible (think: SaveSkyMiles.com) tends not to get any serious attention from DL for 2-3 years.
I guess the big question is, will enough people complain before they leave to raise the noise level to a sufficient crescendo to move DL to act?
Moreover, the SWU issue is just one aspect of the overall decay at SkyMiles: They need to address issues of award pricing/availability/searching/calendar, award changes, companion upgrades, etc. SWU's alone won't fix their problems.
As I said, don't hold your breath.
