It's good to hear other DL flyers are questioning this insane connection time at JFK! I too HAD the same connection, inbound from CLT on Monday. I was very hesitant to get on the CLT-JFK flight, so when I got to the airport I asked about the "same day change" -- and was able to get out earlier with a connection in ATL, and a 2+ hour layover! Much better, less stress, and I arrived home earlier! I've been in/out of JFK and know about the delays, one of the major delays is stuck on the tarmac waiting for a gate!

I would see if DL can rebook you. The SDC can be used three hours prior to your original departure.
