i am a firm believer in the fact that if you want a suite then you should book it....however, having said that, if spg had a system like 4 suite upgrade certificates per year to start off a plat & then 1 certificate after every 2 stays, that could take care of the whole guessing game....

but once again, if you want a suite then just book it....
