Never thought of U-Haul, that indeed seems like a great last resort idea! But $0.79 per mile extra is really steep! I would rather book them than try to find a rental as a walk-in at the airport if online it shows no availability. I've seen people going from one rental car window to another, with no availability; happened to me, too.
