At DCA last Friday checked in fairly early for a two legger home at one of the kiosks on the lower level coming off the metro.
Was offered an earlier flight...but the second flight got me home later. As I had a snug connection (44 mins) in ATL on my original PNR, I was still interested in the earlier departure but didn't pull the trigger at Kiosk.
Went to the Sky Club and they got me the earlier departure, protected my upgrade on the first flight and still got me home at the original time. THIS WAS ON a FRIDAY Eve depature from DCA!! (SC was packed like I've never seen it!)
I was on a refundable and am a PM, but never did I expect this deal! I consider this one of those well intentioned and halfly executed programming efforts. The bait at the kiosk was half empty/ half full due to the later arrival. But since the SC angel kept the second, had a decent snack out on E and got home with much less stress.
Bottom line, nice effort...please refine.
