Bedelman, you're not wrong.

While I no longer carry the Platinum card, I did use it a couple of years ago to get two R/T Lufthansa business class tix to Cairo from Washington Dulles for a vacation. My recollection is, coach tix were in the $1200-1500 range, full fare business class was about $4200, so we paid about $2100 each. I couldn't come close to that through any business class consolidator I could find.
