Pros
- sometimes some great room upgrades
- free breakfast (though sometimes only the cold foods)
- nice fluffy robe
- never had a problem redeeming points
Cons
- Nor 1 made nicer upgrades harder to get
- service very inconsistant hotel to hotel
- rates that gave points often not as good as other chains
- benefits drying up, a couple bottles of water you need to beg for does not warrant 28 stays someplace
- their on site customer service has degraded quite a bit recently at many properties
I give Hilton a B but I am only a Gold, still though I get my fair share of upgrades etc. I find HGI give gold the best service.
