I never EVER rely on a hotel wake up call, like other posters I view it as a backup to my phone. Before the mobile era I took my own travel alarm everywhere with me. I do often ask for wake up calls and almost without exception they've been OK, but it's still only a back-up, I view it as my responsiblity to wake up, not someone elses...
