I for one do not wish the front line staff at the airport to have this power over passengers they do not care for, for any reason whatsoever. My original post was simply a request to those more informed than I.

Notwithstanding what happened, if I was an airline employee behind the counter I likely would have done whatever I could to stick it to a rude or abusive passenger. However it is not in the best interest of the airline to allow the front line staff to have the power as they both have different agendas. As a small business owner I would in no way allow any staff to have the power to run off someone who is likely in the top 5% of my customers.
"Have the power?!" Have the power of what? Expecting you to live by the CoC? Expecting not to be called a name when they're just doing their job?

In your case, they weren't out there to "stick it" to you. You violated the CoC, plain and simple. Instead of trying to portray yourself as the victim here, you should probably be lucky they re-accommodated you on another flight after your name-calling (whether in a calm voice or not).

The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of elite-level flyers out there that will complain about ANYTHING, regardless of situation or airline. They knew that, and the fact of the matter is that you did contact the airline, just as they thought you would.

Let it go, and show up on-time for your next flight.
