Compensation for No Wake Up Call?

Yesterday, I stayed at the Renaissance Pare in New Orleans. Had a 6am flight out of MSY to a business meeting in Boston. Called the front desk for a wake up call at 4am, and a reminder 15 minutes later at 4:15am

4:40 comes and I happen to wake up. Front desk calls and says my party is leaving in the cab. Jump in the shower, get dressed and head for the airport. I asked the front desk what happened and they said a 3rd party must have forgotten to let them know about the call -- it was cancelled.

Net sum, I get to the airport, and I miss the check in point (Ok, I could have checked in the day before, but the hotel printer was not working, -- and I could have insisted they fix it). I get on the next flight, and well I missed my meeting.

Have not called the general manager, as I wanted to simmer down and be calm about the situation -- and I thought I would ask people here

1. Should I ask for compensation from the hotel, or suck it up
2. If yes, what should I ask for
3. What is reasonable to expect

Thanks for your advice in advance
