Need Suggestions: Laptop Backpack, Checkpoint Friendly, NOT Made in China

Tons of great options listed a similar thread, but I have some more specific needs, which is why I decided to start a new thread instead of continuing the other business backpack thread.

My list is fairly straightforward, except for my very last point:

1. Must be backpack format

2. Must carry 13"-15" laptop

3. Laptop portion must be "checkpoint friendly" or "fastpass"

4. Must be available in all black or other similar professional looking color scheme

5. Must have enough room to carry 1 night's worth of clothes, toiletries, charger, and a few files/papers. (Estimated volume around 1400 cu inches + / 23L+)

6. Nylon or leather...doesn't matter...just don't prefer plasticky stuff.

7. Must not be made in China. It doesn't have to be made in USA...it just can't be made in China

As you might guess, my last request rules out the majority of the luggage on the market today...even high end brands like Tumi and Victorinox are Chinese.

There are several manufacturers that proudly advertise "Made in USA" like Timbuk2, Trager, Redoxx, and Tom Bihn, but none of their backpacks are checkpoint friendly (and most are extraordinarily unprofessional looking).

The only option I have found so far is Briggs & Riley @Work 15.4" Executive Clamshell (p/n KPC308). This is made in Thailand, and retails for $239. I am OK with this, but I would like to see other options before making my decision.

The other unit that seems to be almost perfect is the Eagle Creek Global Commuter (p/n 20246). Its carry options are the best of any backpack I've found, and it retails for roughly half of the B&R product. However, I have not seen one of these in person and I don't know where it is made. Given the price point, I fear it is made in China.

Osprey Flapjack is made in Vietnam (marginally better than China since Osprey actually operates the factory itself) but doesn't have the checkpoint friendly feature. These issues make it a borderline choice.

Thoughts and opinions?

(respectfully, I ask that this thread not degenerate into a discussion of the merits and concerns of Chinese manufacturing, but rather stick to the topic of suggesting a suitable bag).
