A good tool to help find good bade fares is Farecompare's Flyertalk Fares page (Google that), which sorts fares based on their CPM (though you can eke more out with creative routings, of course).

Thanks. The site detailed some good deals and noted miles attained for the various routes. I used to work over in the S. Pacific and have nearly a quarter million miles with Qantas.
