To respond to various comments/questions:
I have not been in contact recently with my helpful Centurion representative. I simply cc'd her so that she would know I appreciated her help, and so that she would have something to show her supervisor.
I know I gave a May 31 deadline. But the fact is that if they were going to respond at all, they probably would have done it by now. BTW, I did write to Ken Chenault once about a decade ago, and was pleased with the response from his office.
Will I close all of my Amex accounts? Not while I have almost 300k MR points sitting there, and not until my 50k DL bonus posts. But I could (and will) drop down to a Green Card or a Rewards Plus card on the personal side, and close my Corporate Card account.
BTW, since writing this letter, I have had additional (albeit entirely unrelated) problems with Amex. However, I'm waiting to see how these matters are resolved before writing any more letters.
