Question on secondary screening, odd story

I was traveling one way from Central America to USA on CO. When I checked in I had an issue at the counter, they had closed the flight an hour before scheduled departure. I got upset that they wouldnt check me in, asked for supervisor, station manager etc. At one point I told them in a calm voice that they were just lazy, and they were not pleased to say the least. Of course things eventually calmed down and I rebooked on another itinerrary.

When I arrived at Newark, I was sent to secondary screening, and asked about my problem checking in as well as my life history, employment, purpose of travel, discrepancy in my story compared to a secondary screening I got 17 years ago, etc. What was odd is that they mentioned twice that I had some problems this morning flying. I felt like I was in the Seinfeld episode where the chart follows Elaine to all the doctors. Is it plausable that the personel notified USA immigration or had local immigration do so with some code for suspicious passenger or something. Some sort of modern version of sending your bags via Siberia as the Urban Legands say they did in the old days to passengers they didn't like.

Please no flaming or jokes about how it serves me right etc. If anyone has any serious input it would be appreciated.
