Well, this is great if you are rich and fly revenue first class, or if you have an employer who flies you all over the place, however if you're like me, who buys primarily discounted coach tickets, but a lot of them, and once or twice a year splurges on a B fare or revenue business first to Europe, but doesn't hit $30K in revenue, this doesn't do anything, in fact it dilutes the program from my perspective, in that it becomes even harder to get an upgrade after June with these changes, with all the 1K UA elites and now the CO PP elites competing for seats - I guess they are more valuable customers to CO from a revenue perspective, which I understand, but it diminishes the value of flying CO from my perspective - they're eliminating meals in coach (transcon has gone from lunch to snack recently..), the seats aren't comfortable, pitch is pretty conservative, it may be time to toss in the towel and fly Jet Blue!
Alas, standard platinum becomes the new silver...
