Yes, you've got it. "Y" is the standard letter that gets used to refer to coach, and "F" for first.

Depending on where you're traveling from, you may be able to score some first class tickets via frequent flier miles. If you can find availability (not necessarily an easy task, but it's free to try), you could buy US Airways miles before the end of the month for half price and redeem them for a Star Alliance award (or US Airways award) to Hawaii. If you're traveling from the Continental US, then the miles would cost you less than $1,000 per person for a first class ticket. (Taxes may bump your total cost to a little over $1k.)
