NH is not difficult to find December-March, especially for the ORD-NRT route.

OZ isn't perfect but still pretty good, and pretty widely available.

But with Aeroplan you can transit the Atlantic OR Pacific OR both...

That means:
LX new first
TK suites
TG F departure from BKK
LH First Class Terminal

Somethin' like Home City -> ORD/JFK -> ZRH -> IST -> BKK -> FRA -> LUFTHANSA US DESTINATION -> HOME CITY.
