That seems odd for an SE on a Lat, but on a YVR-YYZ, perhaps you had many direct status peers?
Or, did you chose a seat in the mini-cabin? I suspect that sometimes the agents choose the easy way out and pick on the 333 mini-cabin folks instead of spending the time to do downgauges the right way - according to status/fare class. I'm sure this frustrates folks like AY who try to do right by us whenever possible.
Having said that, I understand sometimes they have to do whatever is necessary to run the airline.
