Its a frequent stay/guest program. How frequent of a guest are you if you're booking low rate rooms - without checking in - and expecting to receive credit. If that was the case anyone could book a cheap room and maintain platinum status without setting foot in a hotel.
You're not staying, yes you're paying, but you're not physically staying. I don't feel a person should receive a stay or night credit for a no show!
Yes, but on the flip side, if the hotel charges you for a no-show and a walkup takes the room, they shouldn't be able to charge you
and deny SPG credit. I agree that if you pay, you should get credit. It would be easy enough to program the system to sport chronic abusers.
