Check in clerk gives wrong information but does not admit it?
I stayed at a 5* hotel in Shanghai on a steeply discounted rate.. When I checked in the clerk told me I would also get 50% discount on all food. But when I checked out they did not apply the discount. They said I was not entitled to it, regardless of what i was told at check in.
So we talked with the manager directly and he was able to apply the discount, but he still said we were not entitled to the discount. What do you think? Shouldn't the hotel stick to their word if they give you the wrong information? Or should I have just paid the bill and been happy with just my discounted room rate?
