Yeah, I was in the tower lounge yesterday. Pretty crowded to say the least. There's a pile of *A carriers that can use the lounge. Fortunately AC and SQ at least seem to be at distant gates that would use another lounge.

That said, it was brutal just with the LH and UA departures. Nowhere to sit, really. I was told a 1.5 hour wait for a shower. Had to check back at the loo 3 times before it was not lined up!

I certainly don't think you'll get your IFL (even though UA has more than enough departures to support it between IAD, ORD and SFO). But something has to be done to mitigate the lounge crowding.
