Not sure it's exactly on point, but i just booked a phx-msp-hnl flight on nw (about $347, 10k miles). i believe someone on here suggested it (i couldn't find it again to thank them).
i was looking for about that many miles, and normally wouldn't consider hawaii, because of the limited routing options, and usually high fares. i was surprised to find the back track routing. you could also go through slc for a little less money (and less miles).
