I just booked three J class tickets from MNL-SGN for my family. Due to PAL's pathetic website, you cannot select seats without contacting their call center. Apparently this aircraft is an A320 with 12 seats. Currently we have booked 3/12 and only one other person has booked (according to the agent). That leaves 8 vacant seats.
Well my wife, daughter and I have all been assigned separate seats away from each other. This is due to PAL blocking all of Row 1, blocking 2C (for Handicapped) and blocking 3AC D. This leaves us with the only open seats of 2A, 2F (2D is taken by the only other passenger) and 3F. What exactly are they waiting for? Is Manny and his entourage planning a vacation in SGN or does Gloria and her compatriots order the airline to hold open a certain amount of seats? As far as I'm concerned its typical incompetence with no rational thought processes involved.
PAL might as well allow no seat assignments in J until check-in as holding 8 of 12 seats is just plain silly.
