It may have to do with connecting times especially if you are going to OAK like I used in the example. The latest SEA-OAK arrival is 915pm you would be there almost 11 or 12 hours waiting to head to OGG. That would be a stop over and increase the fare anyhow. Have you tried routings through ANC? That will get you some miles!
