You're going to get flamed for your post and so too is czarina...but ignore them. I get it. There are times when I want help and times when I don't want help. When I want help I am happy to have a pleasant shuttle driver help me and am happy to reward them for doing so. When I don't want help, I don't want a pleasant shuttle driver to help me and I don't want to pay for the unwanted help. And I never want an unpleasant person to help me no matter how much I need it, and I likely won't tip for unpleasantness.
That's it, really. I have no problem tipping the airport limo driver - they actually do something. Even the hotel shuttles where they simply have a van and make sure you get to the right location and all. My problem is with the buses where all they do is grab the bag from you as you are about to get on the bus and then swing it around to put it on a rack. They barely even have to move. In LA, the hotel bus drivers grab your bag, stick it in a corner by them and tell everyone to move down to the end of the bus, then it's a game to see who can get to your bag first when your hotel comes up.
