I find the scenario as depicted rather improbable and (as others have hinted) a bit self seeking.

If it is essential that she makes this trip you need to face up to flying back with her & the kids to look after them. If you do not choose to do so I think EK would be within it's rights to refuse to let her fly.

MY wife had a sesamoid bone fracture which was not that bad and did not immobilze her.Also I understand your concern for the crutches but she did not need them and could easily manage the kids.Also not only did EK not refuse her service but gave her a comp upgrade.
