I'd say it varies on the specific report you're talking about (just like all statistics, it's ultimately a tool that can be used to showcase your data in whatever way works better for whatever you're trying to achieve); however, generally award-bookings do count. What class/fare basis/etc really doesn't matter - just number of miles flown that was paid for (in $ or miles).
