I have been traveling with 5-6 quarter size bags of less than three ounces and have not been questioned once yet. I don't even bother pulling them out of my bag anymore. It seems at as long as the bottles/containers are three ounces or less you can haul as many as you want. Of course, another TSA dumb rule not to mention that the little travel size bottles are much more expensive to buy along with a pain in the butt to be traveling with a bunch of small containers.
