anyway I dont blame the GA, short checking they think that you wont end up flying to DCA (I know its a r/t) but it could be that a SFO-EWR-DCA-EWR-SFO was cheaper then simply a 1 way SFO-EWR

I cant understand why you waited so long to board knowing it was a very full flight. I know you wanted the bump, but my Rule is to wait as long a spossible but NOT to the bitter end but to at least board with 1/3 of the people still not aboard. I simply let the GA know Im boarding but if they need me I have no problems deplaning.

sure its a gamble as the GA might find it easier to simply take whomever is still hanging around and hoping but if you have chatted with them and befriended them and explain why you want to board (to stow the carry-on) I found they will try and get you if they feel they have the time and it wont Delay the Departure

also the chances of actually ending up with a Bump has gone down %wise as CO pretty much gets it Right knowing by how many they can oversell it and still not need to take any Vols.

but as I posted a # of months ago, most times I board if I wasnt #1 I see #1 boarding at the end w/o their carry-ons, if I was #1 I see those who behind me boarding and some w/o their carry-ons.

the Game has differently changed and no way do I want to have my carry-on be checked thru, so Id rather give up the Bump then chance my carry-on going astray
