Does anyone actually use the feature that offers up to 5,000 EQMs annually? I am 3,200 EQMs short of requalifying and was about to hit the submit button to get 4,000 EQMs in return for 40,000 miles earned on my Chase Visa. Then I read the Terms and Conditions. Talk about sticker shock --- what this really means is a deduction of 40,000 redemable miles from my Mileage Plus account.

Does anybody really do this? Did I read the Terms and Conditions wrong? Oh please let that be the case. Thank heaven I discovered this trickery early enough to get a quick trip in. Let me see: I can get 3,200 EQMs for a quick $180 roundtrip or I can throw away 40,000 miles. No brainer.
