Airtran's customer service in RDU are horrendous.

Last year, I had a flight get cancelled (my ATL-MSY leg). I was flying RDU-ATL-MSY. I asked the agent if I was going to be rebooked on another airline or what was going to happen. She told me I could go book it myself, and when I asked her how I was going to pay for it, she said "With your credit card." Did not offer me a refund on my current flight. She said my only other option was to fly to ATL, and see if I could catch standby on another ATL-MSY flight. I asked her what would happen if I missed it, and she said "Not my problem." She did not bother to check on her computer if there even was another flight or any empty space. No offer of hotel or anything. Only other option was to rebook for the following morning (which was not an option...had to make an event), and no offer of paying for cab/hotel whatsoever.

She was so rude I just decided to fly to ATL and risk it. Luckily, I made it standby on another flight.

I try not to fly Airtran anymore. It's not worth the risk or the miserable experience in those small seats.
