I am not inclined to book a Manhattan hotel for that one night when we will not be going out at all. Thought of Ritz Carlton Westchester but it is full for that night?

I wonder if there are suggestions for a nice hotel?

It can be up to 1.5 hours' drive to JFK, hopefully en route from Boston.

Thanks.
You're right to avoid Manhattan. There's no point to driving into Long Island or NJ for JFK, and there's nothing at JFK worth thinking about. What about the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge? Not 5*, but I'm told that it's more than decent. Nicer than JFK hotels, avoids Manhattan, close-ish to JFK, and not horribly overpriced? Looking at Westchester, the Rye Town Hilton perhaps? Doral Arrowwood? Nice places, but nothing memorable, and still a trek to JFK. . .
