Flight this evening (ORD-BWI) this afternoon (Converted TED A-320):

Flight attentedent announced that she would be turing off all lights, including indvidual reading lights, during the safety video. She did, I kept waiting for the audiance is listening THX promo to come up. Still thought it was funny and goes to show how few people listen to the annoucements but as soon as the individual reading lights went out about 20 hands in front of me went up to attempt to turn them back on (Row 11).

It worked very well as the cabin was as quiet as I have ever seen for a video safety demonstration.

Not sure what to make of this, but if gets people to quiet down and maybe let new and/or nervous flyers see and hear the procedures I am all for the three minuites of silent bliss...
